UNDERGROUND FILM FESTIVAL 2024
The Underground Film Festival is a one-of-a-kind event that stands out for its boldness and diversity. With a program full of films, workshops, meetings and events, the festival aims to promote independent and transgressive cinematographic works, which are often ignored or underestimated by mainstream circuits.
The festival will be held in Vicenza from 21 to 25 May 2024, in underground and precarious locations, which give a particular and unique atmosphere to the event. This year, as in the previous edition, participation is limited to adults over the age of eighteen, and the number of participants is limited to small groups.
The sections of the film festival include the Pharmaco-Pornographic Section, dedicated to the criticism of the Pharmaco-Pornographic Regime established in the twentieth century, which manipulates the production of sexual subjectivity through biomolecular and semiotic-technological processes. The Psychosocial Section deals with relational and social dynamics, trying to analyze and respond to the fragmentation and destructuring of human relationships. The Social Cinema Section focuses on the issues and dilemmas of contemporary society, while the MicroAddictions Section addresses addictions born in the social media era, defining them as small, viral, dangerous and resistant.
Artistic director Giorgio Viali highlights the importance of giving space to independent and unconventional artists, highlighting their innovative approach to form and subject matter. The festival is committed to supporting and promoting the work of these artists, creating an opportunity for diverse audiences to discover and appreciate unconventional cinematic works.
The Underground Film Festival confirms itself as an unmissable event for lovers of independent and transgressive cinema, offering a unique and stimulating experience for all those who are looking for new perspectives and cinematic visions. All that remains is to wait for the detailed program and prepare for five intense and engaging days, dedicated to experimentation and cinematic diversity.
